Why does a temperature of 30°C feel different in an area with higher humidity?

I believe that you tolerate 30°C better around the Mediterranean or in the Caribbean than here in Belgium. Does that have something to do with the humidity?

Thanks in advance

Answer

Best,

The easiest is to put it to the extreme.

If you are in a dry room of 20°C, it will not feel that cold, but if you are in an excessively humid environment of 20°C (eg a swimming pool), it will feel cold. The more humid the air, the more the temperature is transferred to our body. We also cannot lose our own heat in a very warm humid environment (eg the tropics) and it will therefore feel even warmer.

kind regards,

Why does a temperature of 30°C feel different in an area with higher humidity?
