Why can’t a baby drink beer?

I just had a baby of my own and would like to give it a try.

Answer

As you know, beer contains alcohol. Alcohol is harmful to many organs, but to some extent our body has means to protect itself by ‘detoxifying’. This requires a number of systems, which are not yet fully operational in a young infant. Your baby could therefore suffer organ damage from ingesting even small amounts of alcohol. So better don’t!
