From now on €207.75 in CBR costs for driving license
The CBR has announced the exam rates for 2023. These are also rising, although the increase of 3.1 percent is relatively mild.
From January 1, 2023, the CBR will charge new rates for taking practical and theory exams for obtaining a car driver’s license. From then on, taking a practical exam costs €125.75 and a theory exam €41. Previously, the costs were €122.50 and €37 respectively, so there is an increase of 3.1 percent on average. The non-profit company reflects that it is about cost-effective rates and feels compelled to raise prices in the context of general price increases.
It also shows that it is below the consumer price index – the price development of goods and services purchased by households. At the time of calculating the new rates, this was 6.6 percent according to the CBR. Last year, the examiner raised the prices by 5.8 percent. This was due to the increased cost as a result of the corona measures. These are no longer in force: a possible explanation for the relatively mild price increase for next year.
Total costs
Obtaining a health certificate via the CBR, which people who want to take an exam have to arrange themselves in advance of their exam since November 1, 2017, has become cheaper. That currently costs €41.50, but from next year it will cost €41. This brings the total CBR costs for obtaining your car driving license (theory, practice, health certificate) in 2023 to €207.75.
