I just found this stone in my garden under the earth. I have the idea if it is a meteorite, it is quite heavy. And he was never there.

Answer
Dear Anita
This website already contains many rocks that turned out not to be meteorites. Your stone unfortunately falls into the same category. Based on the shell-shaped fractures on the surface, it could be a limestone or quartzite. If the surface fizzles with diluted hydrochloric acid, it is a limestone. If the stone scratches on steel or glass, it is probably a quartzite or possibly a fine quartz sandstone. Based on the appearance of the stone alone, there are also other possibilities. The brown color suggests a fairly high iron content, which means that the stone can also be a bit heavy.
