Statement: ‘I will work from home more often to avoid traffic jams’

During the corona pandemic, many Dutch people worked from home. ‘The new way of working.’ Although it was expected that many people with an office job would work from home more often even after the freedom gate was opened, the reality proves that many simply go back to the office. The peak of the traffic jams is now also half an hour later than before, which would mean that you have to hit the road very early or much later – during office hours. Of course, not everyone with office work can just work from home. Perhaps your supervisor fears that you are less productive at home, or perhaps it is extremely important for your work to speak to your colleagues. Video meetings can offer a solution, but they are by no means an adequate replacement for every interaction. For those who often have to visit customers, it is completely difficult to exchange the representative costume for the house clothes.
