Minor updates for 2023 Tracer 7 and Tracer 7 GT

Yamaha has given the Tracer 7 and Tracer 7 GT for model year 2023 a small update. Following on from the MT-07, the Tracer 7 has finally received a TFT color display with Bluetooth connectivity, but that’s not the only thing that Yamaha has adapted.

Minor updates for 2023 Tracer 7 and Tracer 7 GT

There are hardly any differences on the outside, but that changes immediately as soon as you take a seat and discover that the LCD display, which is often unreadable due to reflections, has been thrown away and made way for a 5″ TFT color display, of course. with smartphone connectivity.

In the display you can choose from two screen layouts: a Touring display that shows the information in a conventional way and a Street display with a more modern look. Of course, the TFT can be linked to the Yamaha MyRide app, after which you will receive information about telephone calls, e-mails and text messages on the display. New steering wheel switches should have made operation easy.

In addition to the new display, both models have received larger 298 mm brake discs, while the front fork has also been modified internally. Yamaha talks about other internal settings, but what exactly remains unmentioned, except that thanks to a new integrated countdown mechanism, the spring preload can be adjusted quickly and easily.

The above adjustments also apply to the Tracer 7 GT, which is also equipped with a number of accessories for more luxury and comfort, in order to offer the Sporttour rider a more attractive package.

For example, the Tracer 7 GT is equipped with 20 liter side cases, available in various color combinations. According to Yamaha, the slim and robust design of the cases perfectly complements the dynamic style of the Tracer 7 GT. But yes, then you must be of the opinion that it has a dynamic style, with us that Playmobiel doll looms up again and again…

In addition to the 20-litre panniers, the GT has received a new Touring screen, which is 92mm higher and 70mm wider than before. Yamaha says that the screen is made of unbreakable and scratch-resistant polycarbonate (that’s a fancy word for plastic) (someone says: TikTok challenge?) and that it should offer maximum comfort with less noise.

Because the seat is so important on a touring model, Yamaha has fitted the Tracer 7 GT with a specially designed comfort saddle. The saddle with integrated TRACER logo consists of two materials with contrasting stitching and contains zones with different foam densities for a comfortable sitting position.

The tank pads on the side of the tank are made of high-density rubber and, according to Yamaha, have increased rider comfort and grip. At the same time, they protect the tank from scratches. The design is inspired by the “Roads of Life” philosophy, the concept behind Yamaha’s SportTour models.

The addition of the rear rack to the Tracer 7 GT as a standard accessory is intended to provide greater frame rigidity and tighter handling. An additional advantage is that the duo has more grip while driving.

The Tracer 7 is available in Midnight Black, Icon Performance and Redline. The Tracer 7 GT is available in Icon Performance, Phantom Blue and Midnight Black with special GT graphics.
