My son is very left handed yet is right handed. Does math and reading require more effort for him?

When my son was 6 they said in the last kindergarten that he was very left-oriented. They pointed out to me the chance that he would fail at tempo reading and clock reading. Behavioral changes could also indicate frustration.

Answer

There is no scientific evidence for a link between left-handedness (or right-handedness, or ambidextrousness) and problems learning to read or count. It remains a stubborn popular thought, hence the comments in the third kindergarten. Conclusion: don’t worry about it, especially good practice with reading and arithmetic, that works for everyone!
