Stay calm
It is largely dark during the morning and evening rush hours and rain regularly falls from the sky during those busy moments. Bad news for Dutch motorists. The bad weather not only encourages longer traffic jams, but also makes motorists quite nervous.
Insurer Allianz Direct, in collaboration with research agency DirectResearch, has conducted research among 1,262 Dutch people with a driving license into what makes them most nervous. What seems? Almost half of them say that driving in bad weather conditions makes them most nervous.
Of those surveyed — who were able to name the top three things that make them most nervous in the survey — 44 percent said driving in bad weather makes them the most nervous. Burning warning lights on the dashboard also apparently get on the nerves of Dutch motorists. 35 percent of the respondents say that this also makes them nervous, even more so when driving in a busy (24 percent) or unfamiliar environment (22 percent). Difficult or unexpected traffic situations do not exactly calm down Dutch motorists either. 22 percent of the respondents say that it also makes them nervous. We are less concerned about a slope test, only 7 percent indicate that they become somewhat stressed.
