John McGuinness 100th TT Start Replica from Fireblade in the UK

With us, the sale of Supersport motorcycles may have had their day, but not on the other side of the channel, where quite a few Fireblades are sold every year. In any case, more than the Panigale V4 and S 1000 RR, which are about the only two models with us that can still be worn.

In fact, since its introduction in 1992, the Fireblade has been seen as a legend there. Like John McGuinness, who is the most successful living Isle of Man TT rider of all time, only the late Joey Dunlop has been more successful on the small British island in the Irish Sea.

Honda had already released a special version for the 30th anniversary of the Fireblade this year, in exactly the same colors as the very first Fireblade, but at Honda UK they have now gone one step further and have a very limited John McGuinness 100th Released TT Start Replica of the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP.

John McGinness:

“The stars aligned for me to be back on a Honda Fireblade for my 100th TT start. It’s a great bike and has meant so much to me throughout my career. And, when I think about it, so many other drivers over the last 30 years. I am proud of my connection to its place in TT history and this, my replica. There’s no event in the world quite like the Isle of Man TT and this bike celebrates Honda’s, and my own part in it. That feels good. Very good.”

Neil Fletcher, Head of Motorcycles at Honda UK:

“We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate these icons and bring together two such important names in racing, John McGuinness and the Fireblade, to create this special edition. It gives those lucky few people the chance to own a piece of history. We couldn’t be more proud of the result.”

The 2022 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP is packed with MotoGP technology, RC213V inspired aerodynamics, Öhlins Smart Electronic Control (SE-C) 43mm NPX front forks and TT-36 rear shock and Brembo brakes. In honor of the 30th year of the Fireblade, Honda has produced a limited edition 30th Anniversary model. And it is this already special bike that forms the basis of the new John McGuinness 100th Start replica.

By default, the details set it apart; on start up there is a ‘Ring of Fire’ screen animation as the screen loads. The serial number is laser engraved on the top yoke and the 30th anniversary logos can be found on the Smart Key and laser engraved on the Akrapovic muffler, confirming the machine’s special place in history. from Honda is highlighted.

So much for the 30th anniversary, the McPint edition is even more special, according to Honda UK. And here’s why:

– The John McGuinness 100th Start Fireblade is painted the same livery as he raced his 100th TT, including gold detailing and film strip (showing all of John’s TT starts on a Honda and sponsor logos from the 100th TT) and gold wheel stripes .
– John’s signature will crown the cover of the tank (strictly the airbox).
– Each unit has an individually numbered plate on the steering head and is equipped with a carbon front fender from the Honda accessories catalog (weight only 255 g, 38% lighter than standard) and a 10% lighter carbon rear fender and butt and a large screen.
– Metzeler Racetec RR tires are mounted – the original set of tires is also included
– No more than 30 units may be built; £30,000 OTR retail price

And this is not all yet. In addition to the bike itself, you also get this:

– Custom Fireblade garage mat
– Genuine Honda Accessories indoor motorcycle cover
– 3D laser-engraved crystal with a John McGuinness 100th Start replica design
– An opportunity for a personal handover from John McGuinness himself, at Honda Racing UK in Louth

If you’re in the market for it, orders for the John McGuinness CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP 100th Start replica must go through the Honda dealer network. This limited edition Fireblade will also be on display on the Honda booth during Motorcycle Live at NEC from November 19-27.
