‘Most capable electric off-roader in the world’

The new Land Rover Defender does almost everything differently from its predecessor, which has some enthusiasts longing for the robust simplicity of the defunct model. Ineos cleverly responds to this with the Grenadier, but the Scottish Munro Vehicles also seems unable to let go of the character of the old Defender. That melancholy will soon result in the Munro MK_1, an angular Defender-like off-roader, but with an electric powertrain.
Munro Vehicles is a tiny Scottish manufacturer of electric off-roaders who, through a design sketch, previews a car that the company will present in Edinburgh at the beginning of December: the MK_1. The outline of the Munro MK_1 leaves little doubt as to which car has served as inspiration. However, unlike its source of inspiration, the MK_1 will have an electric powertrain.
According to Munro Vehicles, the Munro MK_1 will be the most capable off-roader in the world. In the field you do not have to worry about an empty battery, according to the Scots you can plod around in the dredge for up to 16 hours on a full battery, although the company does not yet share any data about its powertrain. We do know that the Munro MK_1 has a payload of 1,000 kilograms and can pull up to 3,500 kilograms.
We will know more on December 5, when Munro Vehicles will pull the curtain on the electric MK_1.
