Nice try

Don’t have an electric car, but still want to park for free in the city center? Then you just hang a rope between your car and a charging station, right? Someone thought this would work, but was disappointed.
With an electric car you can sometimes still park for free in parking lots where you can charge the car in various city centers. Provided the car is actually charging, of course. The latter often turns out not to be the case. That was certainly not the case with this Volvo V70. In Middelburg, the local enforcers encountered the above scene. The owner of the V70 tried to pretend the car was recharging with a rope attached to the fuel cap and the charging station.
You just don’t have to be a seasoned car connoisseur to realize that such a V70 is not electric and that a rope would otherwise have worked very badly to charge the car. The enforcers knew that too. On the Instagram account of Enforcement Middelburg they shared two photos of the remarkable scene, with the clarification that a ticket has of course been issued for this. It’s not neat, although we have to give credit to the V70 driver that it was a nice try.
