An effervescent tablet tube always says that you can only take 1 tablet per day, is it perhaps unhealthy to take more? and if so what are the complications?
Thanks in advance
Answer
Joris,
Indeed, too many vitamins are not good for health. It is the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K that will cause problems. They accumulate in fatty and liver tissue and can then cause a wide range of symptoms. For example, hypervitaminosis D will affect calcium metabolism. Calcifications will then occur at various places in the body due to an exaggerated calcium intake.
With the exception of some vitamins of the vitamin B complex, a hypervitaminosis of the water-soluble vitamins does not normally occur. The excess of vitamins leaves the body together with the urine.
A healthy and varied diet normally does not require extra vitamin supplements.

Kristof
