Model year update Jaguar F-pace

Jaguar will update its F-Pace for next year. From now on, that car can only be ordered as a sportier R-Dynamic. From now on it has a larger electric range as a plug-in and will receive some more standard equipment.

Last weekend the Jaguar XE was featured in our Back to Basics section, where we reported that Jaguar has had relatively little news to report for a while. This is now changing a little bit: the British are implementing a model year update on their mid-sized SUV, the Jaguar F-Pace. That model came on the market in 2016, received a facelift in 2020 and now a modest refresher.

The most important news of this can be found with the Jaguar F-Pace P400e. That variant with plug-in hybrid powertrain now has a roughly 20 percent greater electric driving range and can therefore reach a maximum of 65 km (WLTP). There is no news for the other motorisations, but that would be of little relevance in the Netherlands: Jaguar says it expects 98 percent of its F-Pace sales in the Netherlands to be a plug-in hybrid.

R-Dynamic

Whichever powertrain you choose, from now on you can only order the F-Pace as a sportier R-Dynamic – just like the Jaguar XE and XF, by the way. In addition, it now always has wheels with a diameter of 19 inches or larger and the upgraded ‘Pivi Pro’ navigation system with voice control, a digital instrument panel and the wireless variant of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard equipment. Furthermore, the ‘black pack’ with exterior accents in high-gloss black is now as good as standard: only the R-Dynamic S-trim (entry-level) does not get that.

Although Jaguar expects to sell almost only units with a plug-in hybrid powertrain here, the brand still offers a fairly extensive choice of engines. The diesels are available with four cylinders as D165 and D200 and with six-cylinder as D300. The petrol engines include the P250 (4-cyl), P400 (6-cyl), P550 SVR (8-cyl) and thus the P400e (4-cyl + electric motor). They all have four-wheel drive, the new starting prices are not yet known.
