Nice bring

Are fully autonomous cars the future? Not all car manufacturers have decided on this yet. Hyundai applies its knowledge and expertise autonomously in a special way and will, among other things, use autonomous robots to bring food to hotels. Excuse me?
Hyundai has started two interesting projects in its home country of South Korea. The manufacturer will use its Plug & Drive (PnD) robots in the Rolling Hills Hotel in Hwaseong, Korea, for room service. This means that hotel guests can expect a robot in front of the door to bring the ordered food and drink. The delivery process is real-time so you know exactly when your croissant will be delivered.
But, what are PnD robots anyway? PnD robots are machines that are based on Hyundai’s PnD platform, a modular basis that can provide support for numerous autonomous robots. The platform has one wheel and is electrically driven. Thanks to an extensive set of lidar and camera sensors and ‘self-learning’ algorithms, PnD robots can find their way independently, not only in hotels, by the way. Hyundai has also started a project with the Korean Woowa Brothers, a delivery service that will use Hyundai’s PnD robots to deliver food to customers in residential complexes and shopping centers, for example.
These are still pilot projects, so-called pilots. Depending on the outcome of these experiments, Hyundai will further expand its PnD robot delivery services. The fact that Hyundai does take robotics seriously became apparent in mid-2021, when it announced that it would take over the American robot builder Boston Dynamics – known for its human- and dog-like robots.
