Extensive update for all models

Tesla is rolling out its “holiday update,” an end-of-year software boost for all four of its models. The update differs per car: for example, only the most recent Tesla’s Model S and Model X now offer the possibility to game in the car via Steam and, for example, the Model Y Performance now has a track mode.
Tesla is having a big one at the end of this year over the air updates for the (infotainment) systems of its cars. One of the most eagerly awaited parts of it is the track mode, which is now present in the Model Y Performance. The technically related Model 3 Performance already had it, and now the Model Y does too, and some customers were waiting for it. The feature provides access to a G-force meter, more insights into the condition of tires, brakes and drivetrain, sportier modes for the drivetrain and stability control, and data collection about your driving behavior on the track.
Tesla’s onboard camera systems are getting more features. In the Model X and Model S after the facelift and in the Model Y and Model 3 you can now make video calls via Zoom using the on-board camera. In addition, you can now after enabling dog fashion – a mode where you can let your dog wait in the car – watch your dog with the Tesla app on your smartphone. This feature is coming to all models.
Steam integration and a light show
More news: from now on you can have all Tesla models perform a light show. That was possible before, but now you can put several Teslas next to each other and make sure that the cars perform the same show at exactly the same time. Very nice if you are charging with co-owners at a Supercharger station, of course. Perhaps even nicer is that the Model X and Model S from after the last facelift now have a Steam integration. Valve’s PC gaming platform, on which thousands of games can be played (online), is now also housed in cars. It is now possible to connect a controller to your Tesla Model X or Model S via Bluetooth. According to the manufacturer, a PlayStation 5 controller works best for this.
In addition to the above novelties, Tesla uses its holiday update for countless other, smaller improvements. As an interested Tesla owner, you can download the release notes check on the update.
