Radical huh?

Radical pulls the curtain off its newest circuit toy. Or well, toy, the SR3 XXR can safely be called a true racing monster.
Looking for a light, Spartan and therefore very capable track car? Then you have come to the right place at the British Radical for many years. With the SR3, it has had an open two-seater tear nose for 20 years now, which can make it quite difficult for much more expensive race cars on the circuit. The SR3, which has been renewed several times, recently underwent a slight metamorphosis and is getting this extra heavy XXR version.
In addition to the more modern lines of the renewed SR3, the arrival of the ‘halo’ is particularly striking, which, just like in Formula 1, must protect the occupant(s) against flying debris or in the event of collisions. The 1.5 four-cylinder engine from the Suzuki Hayabusa, which produces 235 hp in the XXR, is also hidden under an F1-like centrally placed air intake. Thanks to, among other things, extra light wheels and extensive use of carbon fiber, the weight / power ratio of the SR3 XXR is 350 hp per ton. The SR3 XXR is nice and high revving thanks to the Hayabusa power source, of course: you can pull through to no less than 10,000 rpm.
What the SR3 XXR achieves in terms of performance is, as is often the case with Radical, unknown. You can bet that it must be a special experience to go on the track with it. From February, Radical will start shipping the SR3 XXR. A price is not yet known. Radical is now working on a somewhat less Spartan model, of which we were able to catch a glimpse last month.
