Ducati has officially inaugurated the new Finitura e Delibera Estetica building at the company complex in Borgo Panigale. The Finitura e Delibera Estetica is the result of a significant investment in infrastructure, which is entirely self-financed.

The new space will accommodate the final stage of the production cycle, called finishing and aesthetic approval, which consists of the final finishing of the motorcycles carried out by Ducati with a sartorial approach and meticulous attention to detail.
It is at this step that parts such as fairings and panels, which are not mounted on the production line to prevent possible aesthetic damage from movement of the motorcycles, are applied. Finally, each bike is carefully inspected to ensure that it is perfect from an aesthetic point of view, with the aim of ensuring the highest quality standards that distinguish Ducati.
The building covers a total area of 4,400 m² and was built in a few months. Construction works started in April 2022 and ended in December of the same year. The design has been developed taking into account criteria of environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.
Thanks to the use of materials with high energy efficiency, high technology systems and the use of renewable resources, the building is classified as a BEN (Nearly Energy Neutral Building), ie with almost zero energy needs as it is largely covered by energy from renewable sources.
A fundamental role in this is certainly played by the photovoltaic system of the building. A photovoltaic installation of 170 kWp will be installed on the roof, with which more than 200 MWh of clean energy can be generated annually.

A significant reduction in energy consumption also comes from the use of highly efficient air conditioning and natural lighting that comes from the use of large glass and polycarbonate surfaces.
Furthermore, a courtyard has been created in the building, where an open-air green space will be created, which will further contribute to visual well-being and to the natural lighting in the building. All artificial lighting is guaranteed by a system using only LED lamps.
The installation system of the structure also includes an underground rainwater storage tank of about 150 m³ that guarantees the recovery of 90% of the rainwater, which will be reused in internal industrial processes.
The presence near the building of the bio-monitoring station, which uses bees as bio-indicator insects, has enabled Ducati to analyze the environmental impact of all phases of the construction of the new building.
Protecting the environment and reducing the consumption of its activities is a fundamental theme for Ducati’s development and continuous growth, and is also an integral part of the environmental strategy of the Volkswagen Group of which the company is part. .
The ribbon cutting took place in the presence of Claudio Domenicali, CEO Ducati, Markus Duesmann, CEO AUDI AG and President Ducati Motor Holding SpA, Jürgen Rittersberger, CFO Audi AG, together with Matteo Lepore, Mayor of Bologna.
“This year has been really great for Ducati, and the inauguration of the new Finitura e Delibera Estetica production represents another moment of pride. This building embodies an investment that adds value to the company but also to the territory in which Ducati operates. The new space will house a strategic production phase where we focus on the attention to detail and beauty of our motorcycles so that they are perfect when they arrive at our passionate Ducatisti.”
With the inauguration of the Finitura e Delibera Estetica building, Ducati closes a very positive 2022 that, in addition to the triumph in the racing world with the double title in MotoGP and WorldSBK, has also achieved important economic and growth results for the company.
