Nice roll

Wind turbines have drawbacks, we can all agree on that. However, we did not yet know that they can cause traffic jams. Today it is proven, at the Beekbergen junction.
A huge part of a windmill blocks a junction of the A1 and the A50 near Apeldoorn on Wednesday morning. The pillar was transported and came loose in the process, a spokesman for Rijkswaterstaat said. The part of the wind turbine is now being removed. That will take until about noon, Rijkswaterstaat expects.
This concerns the connecting road A50 to Arnhem and the A1 from Hengelo to Apeldoorn. Traffic can turn around at Voorst and at Apeldoorn-Zuid.
After salvaging the piece of windmill, repair work must be carried out. Fortunately, due to the Christmas holidays, traffic jams are not too bad: “Given the low traffic volume, we do not expect too much traffic disruption”, according to Rijkswaterstaat.
