Three times three is…

The Hyundai Staria was already available as a seven-seater in Germany, but is now also available as a nine-seater. That version is more affordable than the seven-seater that Hyundai already delivered to our eastern neighbours, although you also have to sacrifice something for that.
We are not in the habit of closely following the delivery range of South Korean brands in our neighboring countries, but we are happy to make an exception for this Hyundai Staria. The car already shined in an episode of ‘De Auto-Immigration Service’, in which the undersigned indicated that the Hyundai super-bus is only available there as a seven-seater Signature.
That is now changing, because the Hyundai Staria Prime has been added to the range in Germany. Compared to the Signature, it offers no less than two seats more. Instead of a 2-2-3 seating arrangement, each row of seats in the Prime has three seats. This brings the total to nine, provided you are willing to sit comfortably in the front with the three of you. The Prime is also less luxurious than the Signature. That starts with the outside, because the Prime looks just a bit simpler than the Signature we drove due to its simpler headlights and body-colored grille. It is therefore more affordable: where the Signature costs at least €57,550, German buyers already get into a Hyundai Staria Prime for €53,600. For that money you’re only a few ‘Convoi Exceptionnel’ signs and beacons away from a new job, because the ‘Dynamic Yellow’ in the photos above is free. Other colors are also possible, but then you pay more.
Incidentally, the Staria is also available in Belgium with nine seats, but that was probably already the case. In the home country of Korea, there is even a Staria with four rows of seats on the price list. That car offers an additional two seats, bringing the total to 11 pieces.
