A meeting between arch rivals
AutoWeek 2 will be in stores from Wednesday or you will receive it in your mailbox this week. In this issue we go on the road with the Tesla Model Y RWD, we drive the somewhat unknown Voyah Free and we have an Audi A8 as a guest in Klokje Rond that is heading towards half a million kilometers.
Before we get to the cars mentioned, let’s take a look at the double test that adorns the cover. What Ajax versus Feyenoord is to football, Opel Astra versus Volkswagen Golf is to the car world. They are traditionally two of the strongest performing cars of the respective brands. But… hasn’t the world completely changed?
We already knew the Tesla Model Y as Long Range and Performance, but now there is also a version with a smaller battery and purely rear-wheel drive. With a price tag of around 50 grand, this ‘RWD’ is a strong offer on paper, but does it also work in everyday life?
The (emergence) of the Chinese brands seems unstoppable due to the era of the electric car. One of the newest brands to try is Voyah with the Free. A ‘premium electric SUV’ that has to compete against the Audi Q8 E-Tron, BMW iX and Tesla Model Y.

In Klokje Rond, an almost 23-year-old Audi A8 with almost 4.5 tons on the clock shines. If you’ve been around the world ten times, you’ve been able to see quite a lot. Perhaps an eleventh time is no longer necessary. This is how the Bom family from Ermelo enters this race a bit with the Audi A8 from the year 2000. Family yes, because the proud owner Jan Bom has brought his son and grandson with him. They are just as curious about the current state of the car.
