80 percent

Polestar looks back on the past year with great satisfaction. Sales of the Swedish-Chinese brand increased by no less than 80 percent in 2022.
Polestar had set an ambitious goal for 2022: to sell more than 50,000 cars. It has succeeded in that, it proudly reports. Polestar wore out 51,500 cars last year, which means a growth of no less than 80 percent compared to 2021. It must of course be said that 2021 was a challenging year for the car industry as a whole due to the chip shortage, but 2022 also played a role that’s another role.
Polestar will not rest on its laurels and immediately sets itself a sharp target for 2023. In this year, sales must grow another 60 percent compared to 2022. This means that Polestar expects to sell around 80,000 cars in 2023 Among other things, the introduction of the Polestar 3 should make a significant contribution to this.

Although Polestar was doing well worldwide last year, it recorded fewer sales in the Netherlands than in 2021. Where 2,567 new Polestars were registered in the Netherlands in that year, in 2022 there were still 2,194. Incidentally, with just under 3,000 units, 2020 was the best year in the Netherlands for the still young brand.
