Electric Lexus RZ as a sporty Sport Concept

The Tokyo Auto Salon is going on in Japan, which means that Japanese manufacturers are unpacking modified models and even sporty concept cars. The sporty-dressed electric Lexus RZ Sport Concept that plays the leading role in this article falls into the latter category.

In the first place, the RZ Sport Concept is of course a fierce appearance. The RZ Sport Concept was developed together with the Japanese driver Masahiro Sasaki who was also involved in the development of the regular RZ. We see a Lexus RZ with heavily expanded wheel arches, sportier bumper work and not one, but two large rear spoilers. The colossus has been sprayed in a special white color and is 3.5 centimeters closer to the asphalt.

Perhaps there will be an extra powerful RZ that will be called the RZ 600e?

Will this visual drama-packed RZ Sport Concept go into production? No, but he might be more interesting than you think. The car has a different powertrain than the already well-known RZ 450e. Where the RZ 450e as presented has a 204 hp and 265 Nm strong electric motor at the front and a 109 hp and 170 Nm strong electric unit at the rear, this RZ 450e also has the 204 hp strong motor at the rear. If we look at the tailgate of the RZ Sport Concept, we come across the designation RZ 600e. A sneaky hint to a more powerful RZ perhaps?

Hydrogen buggy: Lexus ROV Concept 2

Lexus is taking more more to the Tokyo Auto Salon. For example, it also presents the ROV Concept 2, a study model that builds on the ROV Concept from 2021. Just like the previous ROV Concept, the ROV Concept 2 has a 1.0 three-cylinder on board that uses hydrogen. The 3.12 meter short and off-road fun machine offers space for two occupants and has two or four-wheel drive depending on the driving mode set. The ROV Concept 2 stands on special airless tires, but otherwise hardly differs from the variant shown in 2021.

The Tokyo Auto Salon also has a large outdoor section where Lexus will be showing both the GX – Lexus’ here unknown version of the Toyota Land Cruiser (Prado) – and the new Lexus RX. Both models are hoisted in Outdoor costume. Among other things, they get a roof tent, custom bumper work and so on.
