Since last week it is again possible to receive a purchase subsidy if you want to purchase a new or used electric car. In the first week, just under €14 million was applied for from this so-called SEPP subsidy.
In the first week of the new subsidy round, almost €14 million in subsidies were requested, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) announced on Monday NU.nl know. That amounts to roughly 15 percent of the total pot. Almost €10 million was requested for the purchase or private lease of a new electric car. For used cars, that was almost €4 million. It is therefore significantly slower than last year, when €12 million in subsidies were claimed after one day. There is €99.4 million in the SEPP pot this year, of which €67 million is reserved for buying or leasing a new car. €32.4 million is intended for second-hand electric cars. There is more money in total this year, but it is distributed differently. For example, the subsidy amount for a new electric car is more than €1,000 lower than in 2020 and €400 lower than last year. On the other hand, millions more have been set aside for used electric subsidies. A €2,950 subsidy is available per new electric car and €2,000 for a second-hand electric car. The fiscal value of a new electric car may not exceed €45,000 in order to qualify for the subsidy. Even with an electric occasion, the new price could not exceed €45,000.
Incidentally, an application does not mean that the subsidy has already been paid. The RVO first checks whether the applicant meets the conditions. Applications are also withdrawn in some cases.
