Formula 1 presents adjusted calendar for 2023

The Formula 1 calendar for 2023, presented in September, turned out not to be completely done yet. Formula 1 is now revealing what the season will definitely look like.

Formula 1 is preparing for a new season. It will be the busiest season ever, with no less than 23 races. There would initially be 24, but the now presented really definitive calendar shows one less than in September. At that time, the Chinese Grand Prix was still expected to return, which has not been there for three seasons due to corona. As it turns out, it hasn’t happened yet this year either. It probably has to do with corona again, which is rampant in the country where the virus first appeared and which means there are also uncertainties about possible entry restrictions.

As a result, the initially planned race weekend on April 14, 15 and 16 in China is canceled and there are therefore 23 destinations on the final F1 calendar. The previously planned dates will remain, so the cancellation of the Chinese GP only means that there is a somewhat larger gap between the GP of Australia and the GP of Azerbaijan. As previously announced, the GP of Belgium will move to before the summer break and the GP of the Netherlands will therefore be the opener of the second half of the season this year. New on the calendar is the GP of Las Vegas, while the GP of France has been scrapped. Nice for the Italians: Imola (GP of Emilia Romagna), which was placed on the calendar in 2020 due to corona as an emergency solution, is still there.
