Jeep Avenger named ‘Car of the Year’

Jeep is taking a new path with the Avenger and that is already bearing fruit. The Jeep Avenger has been named ‘Car of the Year 2023’.

Last fall, Jeep presented the Avenger; a brand new compact SUV with a fully electric powertrain. A cousin of the Opel Mokka-e and Peugeot e-2008, the Avenger will also be available with fuel engines on select markets. The fact that the Avenger comes with a fully electric powertrain is a first for Jeep. This also applies to winning the title of Car of the Year. Jeep has not succeeded in doing this before in the 60 times that the prize has been awarded.

At the Brussels Motor Show, the Avenger was declared the winner after deliberation by 59 judges from 23 European countries. The Jeep Avenger surpassed the Volkswagen ID Buzz, Kia Niro and Peugeot 408, among others. The Volkswagen ID Buzz finished in second place and third place was for the also fully electric Nissan Ariya. The only car among the nominees that is not or will be fully electric is the Renault Austral.
