Bigger battery, faster charging and more range for the Volvo XC40 Pure Electric

The Volvo XC40 is a true crowd pleaser. Since its introduction, more than 30,000 copies of this compact and spacious SUV have been delivered in the Netherlands. A large part of it is fully electric and to make that version even more attractive, it now has a larger battery pack in combination with rear-wheel drive. This increases the range to 513 km, while charging is also faster than before.

What makes the Volvo XC40 so popular? Is it his robust, tough appearance that also manages to arouse sympathy at the same time? Or the thoughtful interior characterized by Scandinavian design? Add to that the unprecedented amount of safety and assistance systems and the driving comfort that is characteristic of Volvo and you have an SUV that you like to transport your loved ones with and with which you can cover your kilometers in peace.

Range up to 513 kilometers

That tranquility is best expressed in the Volvo XC40 Pure Electric, in which a quiet and above all very powerful electric motor ensures emission-free performance. If you opt for the Single Motor Extended Range, you have 252 hp and a range of up to 513 km. And just like the version with the standard battery (range of up to 462 km), it can also tow a trailer of 1,500 kg. The XC40 Twin Motor has two engines, the large battery, four-wheel drive and a range of up to 500 km. With its power of 408 hp, the most powerful version is good for a towing weight of 1,800 kg.

Many unique safety features

Whichever 100 percent electric Volvo XC40 you choose, you have all conceivable systems at your disposal when it comes to safety. From the very beginning of its existence, Volvo goes to the extreme in this respect and always goes a step further than others. It goes without saying that the XC40 achieved the maximum five stars in the EuroNCAP safety test. Unique to Volvo are systems such as RSC (Roll Stability Control), SIPS (Side Impact Protection System) and WHIPS (Whiplash Protection System). At least as special is that the City Safety system not only detects cyclists and pedestrians, but also features Large Animal Detection. Not surprising for a car developed in a country where reindeer and moose can suddenly cross the road!

Infotainment based on Google

The infotainment system of the Volvo XC40 listens to the voice command ‘Hey Google’ and is therefore always available to you, without distracting you from your driving tasks. That too is safety. And with Google’s navigation, the map material and the traffic information are always up to date.

Via Over The Air (OTA) updates, the system always has the latest software and a charging point is quickly found with the ‘finding charging’ function. A high-quality audio system is standard on all versions and with its 330 watts of power and a total of eight loudspeakers, it provides a fantastic sound.

Care by Volvo: XC40 via subscription

The Volvo XC40 Pure Electric comes with the Care Package. That means three years of maintenance and warranty. The battery pack has an eight-year warranty. Prefer a subscription to buying? With Care by Volvo you have plenty of options. A flexible subscription has a cancellation period of three months and if you opt for a term of 48 months, the monthly amount will be lower. A down payment is not required and the subscription covers the costs for maintenance, insurance and any replacement transport.
