Announcement Friday?

For a long time it seemed that Porsche would team up with Red Bull’s Formula 1 team, but that deal fell through. Now Ford would be the big candidate and a deal is reportedly even officially announced this week.
With a view to the new engine regulations from 2026, various car manufacturers are already in the picture for an entry into Formula 1. For example, a deal was in the works between Porsche and Red Bull, but it ultimately did not materialize. For the time being, only Audi’s entry from that year is in cans and jugs, which links up with the Sauber team. Cadillac recently surprised with the intention to enter Formula 1 and various names are already being mentioned around Red Bull. Red Bull would be on the radar of Honda (the current engine supplier), Hyundai and Ford. The latter would have already reached an agreement with Red Bull.
Various media and well-known journalists, including the generally well-informed Erik van Haren (Telegraph), report that Red Bull and Ford are working on a deal. Not only that; the talks are apparently advanced enough to come up with an announcement this week. Red Bull Powertrains would build the combustion engine, Ford may then only provide the electrical components or even just sponsor it.
The fact that both Red Bull Racing and sister team AlphaTauri are unveiling the new F1 car in New York reinforces the Ford rumours. The choice of the United States as the backdrop for the unveiling is unusual. Red Bull presents the RB19 on Friday, then we may know more.
