Another well-known model name will soon disappear from the Dutch market. The Fiat Tipo is still available for a while, but is slowly but surely walking off the Dutch sales stage.

The Fiat Tipo is still available in the Netherlands and can also be found in the Fiat configurator, but the Tipo is no longer mentioned on the Fiat model page. Inquiries with the Dutch importer show that the Fiat Tipo in the Netherlands is indeed not long-lived.

In 2015, the model name Tipo returned to the Netherlands after about twenty years. The current generation Tipo made its public debut as a four-door sedan, but also came a year later as a hatchback and a station wagon. The Tipo Sedan was already cut from the Dutch delivery range in 2018, but the hatchback and station wagon were allowed to stay. The entire Tipo family went under the knife in 2020 and came with new petrol engines. Later, Fiat introduced the Tipo Hybrid with a mild-hybrid powertrain. Since the reintroduction of the Fiat Tipo, more than 2,000 copies have been registered in the Netherlands. The Tipo, which Fiat sold in the Netherlands from 1988 until the mid-1990s, sold more than 30,000 copies here.

Currently, the Fiat Tipo Hatchback and Tipo Station Wagon in the Netherlands can only be ordered with the 130 hp mild-hybrid powertrain. The Fiat Tipo Hatchback costs at least €31,844, for the Tipo Station Wagon Fiat asks at least €32,856. Fiat says that it wants to focus mainly on the A and B segment in the Netherlands, which means that cars such as the 500, 500X and Panda will receive full attention from now on. Around 2025, the Tipo is reportedly succeeded by a crossover-like. It could just be that the Tipo will return to the Netherlands in its new form.
