Absurdly fast Hennessey Venom F5 is coming

Hennessey is almost ready for the Venom F5 reveal. A car that, according to its makers, explores the absolute limits of what is currently possible with a street car.

It has been three years since Hennessey introduced the Venom F5 to the world, but it has not yet come from an actual production version. Behind the scenes, a lot of work has been done to further push the boundaries of the very fast hypercar. With results, because the 1,624 hp promised in 2017 turned out not to be the final destination. In the meantime, Hennessey has managed to squeeze 1,842 hp and 1,617 Nm of power from the 6.6-liter biturbo V8 on the test bench.

Hennessey has managed to translate the ability into performance figures that do not lie. According to the American company, the Venom F5 should be able to reach a top speed of ‘above 500 km / h’. The monococque made of carbon fiber, among other things, helps with this, because the Venom F5 will be very strong but also relatively light. The monocoque weighs only 86 kilos, although it is not yet known what the total weight of the tyrant is. In 2017, people still talked about a weight of 1,333 kilos.

In total, Hennessey is building 24 copies of the Venom F5, of which 12 for the American market and 12 for the rest of the world. The copies that remain within the country’s borders are almost sold out. With a price of € 1.49 million converted, you can say that the future owners are in a bad position. December 15, Hennessey will show the final production version of the Venom F5 and production will begin in the second quarter of 2021. Next summer, in August, the Venom F5 will make its public debut at the Monterey Car Week.
