No one is safe

Environmental activists have been making themselves heard in all kinds of ways lately. They usually target industry and traditional cars with combustion engines, but don’t think you’re safe in an EV. For an anonymous action group in Germany, that type of car is also the personification of evil, which was reason for these people to set fire to a series of brand new Teslas.
“Tesla is one of our most prominent enemies. The company, like no other, represents the ideology of green capitalism and ongoing global and colonial destruction.” If you thought you were having fun with your Tesla, you will be put in your place by the German arsonists. The fire in question happened last week, simultaneously with and in response to the IAA. The activists apparently missed the fact that the mobility fair no longer takes place in Frankfurt, but in Munich.
The activists themselves claim responsibility for the fire, but of course they do so anonymously. The ‘confession’ can be read at Indymedia.org, apparently a gathering place for everyone who has something against ‘the system’. According to Hessenschau.de, ten Teslas were completely lost in the Frankfurt district of Fechenheim, while an unknown number of cars were damaged. There is talk of a damage amount of approximately half a million euros. 40 firefighters were called in to extinguish the fire and traffic on a nearby railway line had to be briefly halted.
The ten Teslas are of the Model Y type. Judging from the nameplate, these are Long Range variants, which are built in Germany. The cars were reportedly brand new and were undoubtedly waiting for their well-intentioned buyers at the company where they were lost.
