Unrest again in Grünheide
Activists tried to enter Tesla’s large car factory near Berlin on Friday. Demonstrators are holding a protest there against the expansion plans for the factory.
According to the German police, activists have not yet managed to actually gain access to the Tesla site. However, they reportedly managed to break through some barriers. One woman has been injured so far during the protests around the factory site. In addition, three police officers were injured, a police spokesperson said. The police have also made several arrests.
There has been dissatisfaction about the expansion plans for the factory for some time. For example, a few months ago a fire was set at a nearby electricity pylon. That action was claimed by a left-wing extremist action group. As a result, the factory and homes in the Grünheide area were left without power. The factory also shut down for a while after the arson.
