Acura Integra takes a trick from Honda Civic Type R

In the Acura Integra, the Honda Civic has a quirky half-brother. Or well, idiosyncratic, he simply looks at the trick on many fronts at the Civic. The same goes for the sporty top version!

For years there was an Integra called alternative to the Honda Civic. Overall, the Integra, which has been sold as Honda and Acura over the years, was more sporty and positioned slightly higher in the market. That also applies to the current Acura Integra, which was unveiled in the United States early this year and breathes new life into the model name 16 years after the end of its predecessor. If you do not find the new Honda Civic exciting enough, then the Integra may be more to your liking. Yet the Civic is still more intense than the Integra, since there is a real Type R again. Then the Integra can not be left behind …

Acura now shows that it is testing with the Integra Type S. A car that Acura says will be equipped with ‘a high-revving 2.0 VTEC with turbo, generating more than 300 hp and is linked to a manual six-speed gearbox’. What do we know that from? Oh yes, the Civic Type R of course. Chances are that the Acura Integra Type S also releases 320 hp and 400 Nm on its front wheels and spears from 0 to 100 km / h in roughly 5.5 seconds. Acura will release the Integra Type S next summer. Here in Europe we should not expect him.

If the Acura Integra were also available here in the Netherlands, would you leave the Civic for it? Let me know in the comments.
