Important news for Max Verstappen, who has a contract with Red Bull until 2028 and therefore hoped to benefit from Newey’s skills for a long time to come. After all, Newey has been considered perhaps the most talented designer in the sport for decades and his track record shows that. This year, under his watchful eye, another car has been built that puts the competition at a disadvantage.
Max Verstappen tells the assembled media in the press conference in Miami that he is very happy that it is now done. “Obviously I’m very happy that Adrian is staying. Anyway, that goes for everyone in the team. I mean, if you perform well, you want to keep that group together.” It remains to be seen whether the latter will also succeed. Incidentally, there is a good chance that Adrian Newey will never go to another team. After all, he is already 64 and Helmut Marko declares to Auto Bild that he is pretty sure that Newey will retire from Red Bull.
