Yesterday we already had a look at a Lancia Dedra SW in ‘In the Wild’ and today we hoist another rare Italian on the podium: this sleek Alfa Romeo 33. The biggest difference is that it is for sale.

The Alfa Romeo 33 had a life span with a length that we can hardly imagine nowadays. The Alfa Romeo compact mid-sized car was on the market for no less than 12 years, but not without the necessary changes to keep it current. The largest renewal round came in 1989, in which the 33 (from then on also referred to as the second series) was given an almost completely redesigned nose and rear. Although the strong design appeared reasonably fresh again, the years have now started to count somewhat. Especially if you look at the interior of this red one from 1993. That looked a lot more modern with the competitors at the time.

Anyway, we won’t complain, because certainly in this color scheme it was still quite a tasteful thing to put in front of your door in 1993. Modestly chic, with the rear spoiler as a nice sporty detail. The 33 was even with the 1.5 that is in this already quite a smooth thing, which stamped out 95 hp, while the 33 with 950 kilos was not exactly a heavyweight. You could reach 100 km/h from standstill in 10.7 seconds. Not a stripper, but spry. If you really wanted to be smooth, you chose the 1.7 and preferably also the sixteen valve. Well, that was obviously not for everyone.

Alfa Romeo 33

Although the 33 was relatively popular in its time, especially for an Alfa Romeo, they have largely disappeared from the streets. Not very surprising when you consider that the last one was sold 26 years ago. This copy is still there and looks very neat based on the photos. The advertiser does state that the sky deserves some attention, but otherwise we don’t see anything crazy. The mileage of just 122,626 km is further proof of a quiet life, as is the fact that the 33 has only had three owners to date. In short: a car that deserves to be pampered even in the autumn of its life and to be preserved for the future. And then the key question is: how much should something like this cost? €3,950 is the asking price. Do you think he’ll go away for that?
