In 2021 or 2022 we hope to get to know the first new Alfa Romeo in years; the Tonale. However, it does not stop there, there is also a smaller SUV at the bottom of the range. A little more is now known about this.
There are often wild rumors about Alfa Romeo about new models and when they will appear on the market. That’s the way it has been for a few years now when it comes to the Tonale (photos), the SUV that has to fill the gap that the Giulietta leaves behind. However, there has been another gap that needs to be closed for some time, that of Mito, who died in 2018. More than three years ago we heard that all these empty spaces would be filled up to and including 2020, but nothing turned out to be further from the truth. However, the Tonale is becoming more and more concrete and for the second time this year there is also some light on the horizon when it comes to the Mito successor. That will be an SUV that according to Motor1 Italy listens to the name Brennero.
The Brennero is one of the models that the FCA brands will build under the new Stellantis group in the Polish factory in Tychy. That factory will be transformed to produce cars on PSA’s eCMP platform, on which, for example, the Peugeot (e) -2008 resides. You guessed it; the Brennero is therefore expected to be available with both a fully electric powertrain and a fuel engine. The Alfa Romeo B-segment SUV is not the only newcomer to arrive, as Fiat is also relocating its production to Tychy. In that case it is probably the Punto successor. Chances are that it will also be an SUV / crossover. Lovers of Italian cars will certainly have exciting times ahead!
