All about Bookmarks in Chrome

All about Bookmarks in ChromeKeep favorite websites handy in Chrome with the Bookmarks bar. You no longer have to type the web address, with one click you are at a website of your choice.

A Bookmarks Bar is basically a list of shortcuts to favorite web pages. It’s below the address bar. To do this, you must first set it up:

  • Open Google Chrome.
  • Click the “Customize and manage Google Chrome” icon at the top right. Those are the three dots.
  • click on bookmarks > Show bookmark bar.

A (sometimes still empty) bar appears below the address bar. On the far left is a button for ‘Apps’.

Now that the Bookmarks Bar is set up, it’s time to populate it. We use Seniorweb.nl as an example.

  • Surf to www.seniorweb.nl
  • Click on the star on the far right of the address bar.

Set bookmark

  • click on add bookmark.
  • The full title of the website is automatically displayed. In this case it is ‘SeniorWeb, the computer help for you’. Adjust this to something that is convenient for you. For example, simply ‘SeniorWeb’.
  • Click on the drop-down menu behind ‘Map’.
  • click on bookmark bar.
  • click on Finished.

Voilà, SeniorWeb appears in the bar, with the icon of the website in front of it.

To prevent the Bookmark bar from becoming cluttered, you can bundle Bookmarks. For example, put all social media websites in a folder. Or any news websites.

  • Right-click on an empty spot in the Bookmarks Bar.
  • click on Add folder.
  • Type what you want to name the folder. For example, ‘Social Media’.
  • click on Save.
  • Surf to a web page you want to add. For example www.facebook.com
  • Click on the star to the right of the web address.
  • Type the desired name.
  • Now select the folder where you want to bundle the website. In this example it is ‘Social Media’.
  • Click on Save.

Add multiple websites in the same way. If you click on the folder, it expands. There you will find the websites that you saved.

If you want to rearrange the Bookmarks, you don’t need to delete and add them again. Moving is very easy:

  • Click and hold the Bookmark you want to move.
  • Drag the Bookmark to another location and release the mouse button.
  • You can also move to a folder. Then drag the Bookmark to the folder and release. Of course you can also get out.

A BYou can delete a scheduler that you never use again.

  • Right click on the Bookmark.
  • click on remove.

You can also change the name of a Bookmark or folder.

  • Right click on the Bookmark.
  • click on To process.
