Alpha Motor Corporation closed 2021 with yet another new vision for the future. And the company that has not built a single car except for a prototype will show a new model in the first week of 2022.
A few days before the turn of the year, Alpha Motor Corporation presented the Saga Estate, an electric station wagon that is to become the umpteenth purely and only digitally available car from this company. Although Alpha Motor Corporation has not yet built a single production model, you can pre-order all of the company’s creations. Alpha Motor Corporation now adds another one to the laundry list of intended models: the Room.
Despite its name, De Room has absolutely nothing to do with a dairy product. The Room is a kind of room on wheels in which you will not find conventional controls. The Room 3.85 meters wide, 1.95 meters wide and 1.58 meters high is Alpha’s vision of a future electric and fully autonomous car. The presentation of the Room goes hand in hand with woolly PR language and dreamy descriptions. For example, Alpha Motor reports that the Room is inspired by “[…] the social nature of living organisms that work together in harmony, share resources and maintain together.” A real shared car, so it seems.

Unlike the majority of the other models presented by Alpha Motor, the Room cannot be reserved yet. After all, De Room is a vision of the future. Like its countless sister models, the Room should be on a modular platform. The Room has a fairly limited top speed at 40 km/h and weighs about 1,300 kilos. It offers space for four passengers and is four-wheel drive thanks to two electric motors.
