Pay a lot more, but then you have something
Do you think the BMW X7 is not intense enough despite its extravagant front and its up to 530 hp engines? Then you can order the variant that has been overhauled by Alpina from now on. It will cost you a lot of money, because you have lost almost €240,000 for it.
In September, the German Alpina presented its version of the facelifted BMW X7: the renewed XB7. The Alpina XB7 was previously based on the X7 M50i and in fact that is still the case, were it not for the fact that BMW renamed the M50i to M60i during the update of the X7. The X7 M60i delivers with 530 hp and 750 Nm in principle as much power as the M50i, although this time it comes from a revised 4.4 V8. In the Alpina XB7, that eight-cylinder also serves, although it kicks it up to 621 hp and 800 Nm. In the Netherlands, the Alpina XB7 has a starting price of €239,960. By comparison, the BMW X7 M60i on which it is based is in the order books for €188,178. The price difference is therefore almost 52 mille.
With its 621 hp and 800 Nm – already available at 1,800 rpm – the Alpina XB7 thunders to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. In 14.8 seconds you beat from standstill to 200 km/h and only at 290 km/h accelerating is a thing of the past. Entirely in line with Alpina tradition, the XB7 is not an M-like car, but a car that should offer more flexibility and speed in a straight line. It does not stop at just a tackled powertrain. Alpina finishes the interior down to the smallest corners and niches with the finest Lavalina leather. In addition, the Germans offer you a great deal of possibilities to put everything together according to your own taste. There are no limits, says Alpina.
