Alpenglow

The Alpine Alpenglow Hy4 is currently only intended for the track, but the crack nose with a hydrogen fuel engine may also soon be marketed as a street-legal supercar.
The Renault Group sees a future in hydrogen, and not just in fuel cells. With the Alpine Alpenglow Hy4, it wants to prove that hydrogen can also be used as a fuel in a combustion engine. Initially it is a racing car with a conventional four-cylinder that is prepared for hydrogen combustion. Ultimately, there should also be one with a new V6 that has been specially developed for hydrogen. But it doesn’t stop there.
In conversation with Coach Alpine designer Anthony Villain makes it quite clear that Alpine is considering production for the Alpenglow. “Why wouldn’t we want to take this on the road? Maybe we can release a small street-legal series. We are already thinking about such steps.” Villain indicates that, with a view to a possible street-legal version, the Alpine Alpenglow Hy4 has a less extreme design than the Le Mans racer also inspired by the concept version.
