In the ‘nice to know’ category: Ford is working on a facelift for its SUV, even by American standards. The renewed Ford Expedition has been spotted and will soon also be available as a hybrid.
The Expedition can be described as the SUV brother of the immensely popular F-150, although the two actually only share many parts from a technical point of view. In many cases, the drivetrain is also covered. Now that the all-new F-150 is also available as a hybrid, it is not surprising that the Expedition also receives electrical support.
The photographer who took the above images confirms that the car sounds like a hybrid. Everything therefore indicates that the Expedition will soon be able to combine its double-blown 3.5-liter V6 with a 48 hp electric motor and a 1.5 kWh battery. A traditional hybrid, without a plug. The total power comes to 436 hp, while the stated consumption of the F-150 is about 20 percent lower than that of a conventional petrol variant with the same engine. Whether the Expedition can also show off the immense towing weight (5,443 kg) and the impressive range (1,127 km) of the F-150 Hybrid, the future will tell.
As for the Expedition, it probably also concerns its chic brother, the Lincoln Navigator.
