Alternating showers can easily be integrated into your daily routine. How to do it:
- Shower with warm water for two to three minutes.
- Then set a significantly lower water temperature. Guide the shower jet from your right heel over your calf and the hollow of your knee up to your bottom. Repeat the process on the left leg.
- Then rinse your right arm with cold water from your fingertips along the outside of your arm to your shoulders. Repeat the process on the left arm.
- Then you can briefly back, stomach and chest take a cold shower.
- Relax under warm water for two to three minutes, then repeat steps two to four.
The alternating shower ends with cold water, so: warm / cold, warm / cold. You should always start on the right foot as this point on our body is furthest from the heart. The optimal duration of use is ten minutes. After that, it’s important to rewarm your body.
Alternating foot bath: natural help for cold feet
The best means against chronically cold feet are alternating foot baths. They also have a relaxing and toughening effect.
For the application you need two bowls. You fill one with warm water and one with cold water. The process is simple:
- Place a comfortable chair (possibly with a pillow) in front of the bowls and sit down so that your legs can dangle in the water without touching the ground.
- First, soak your feet in warm water for five minutes.
- Switch to the cold water for 30 seconds.
- Repeat the process once.
- Don’t dry your feet off; instead, wipe the cold water off your feet.
- Put on thick wool socks.
You can do alternate foot baths as often as you want. In order to benefit from the positive effects, however, you should at least 2 times a week do.
