Especially fast charging a lot more expensive
The ANWB also feels the rising energy prices and is therefore increasing the rates for charging with the ANWB charging card. These rates apply to every charging station for which you can use the ANWB pass, except for those of Ionity and Fastned. The ANWB is particularly pushing up the fast charging rates.
The ANWB charge card is a card that you can request for free that you can use to pay for the electricity for your EV, both nationally and internationally. In the Netherlands, the pass can be used at almost all charging stations, where you pay the same rate everywhere. The fast charging stations from Ionity and Fastned are the exceptions. At these terminals you can pay with the ANWB card, but you pay the rates that the two providers determine themselves.
Where you previously paid €0.39 and €0.64 per kWh for ‘normal’ charging and fast charging with the ANWB charge card respectively, the new rates – which apply from 1 November – are €0.439 and €0.83. At Ionity and Fastned, which offer fast charging, you pay €0.79 and €0.83 per kWh.
Due to the strongly fluctuating energy prices, Fastned indicated that it would review its rates on a monthly basis, but last month opted to change them. The Ionity rate of €0.79 per kWh has also been in place for a while. ANWB will join the two with a comparable rate from 1 November. The starting rate of €0.31, which you pay per charge, remains the same.
