Sporty Apple car?

Apple hires Luigi Tamborelli, until recently top manager of Lamborghini, to play a key role in the tech giant’s car project. That’s what sources close to the fire say to Bloomberg. The exact role of Tamborelli is not yet clear, but the fact that Apple is adding him to the workforce indicates that work on the ‘Apple Car’ is still in full swing.
Tamborelli was head of chassis and vehicle dynamics at Lamborghini and has been working for the Italian supercar maker for 20 years. In that capacity, he was responsible for the undercarriage, suspension, steering, brakes and wheels of the Urus, Aventador and Huracán. In short, Tamborelli is not the least person and has a nice baking experience. He will reportedly also play a leading role in the design of the ‘Apple Car’, but exactly what he will do is not yet clear. Given his expertise, it would make sense for him to take on a more technical role.
Apple declined to comment on the sources’ claims. Not that Apple has ever been open about the car project, which is internally called ‘Project Titan’, because the company seems to have been working on it since 2014 and Apple didn’t say a word about it all that time. This makes it one of the greatest mysteries in the automotive world. The project also has ups and downs. Apple appeared to want to introduce the car in 2024, but it is unknown whether it is still on track for that deadline. At the end of last year, Apple suffered another major setback when Ford snatched Doug Field, the leader of the car project.
