Apple is coming with the iPhone 13, the iPhone 13 mini, the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Max Pro. These four different models have better cameras and have the same A15 Bionic processor as the new iPad Mini, as you can read in this preview of the iPhone 13.
When Apple gives a keynote, they can always count on a lot of interest. On Tuesday evening, September 14, Apple presented many new mobile devices during their keynote Californian streaming, in which we mainly look at the iPhone 13 in this article.
New iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch and no new AirPods
The iPad Mini was the most innovative here and there was no news about new AirPods, although we previously thought that would be the case. Apple did present the Apple Watch series 7, which change less than expected and you can’t get it until later this fall. Many eyes were naturally focused on the new iPhone 13, of which 4 new models are appearing with even better cameras. It was striking that the new iPhone 13 models get the same A15 Bionic processor as the new iPad Mini.

iPhone 13 (+ mini) with longer battery life
All iPhone 13 models get a 20% narrower notch (the black cutout at the top of the screen), an A15 Bionic processor, better screens and cameras. It is also nice that due to the larger battery, smaller parts and a more economical processor, the iPhone mini has a 1.5 hour longer battery life and that the iPhone 13 even continues to work 2.5 hours longer than the iPhone 12.

The OLED screens are 28% brighter, which is nice in a bright environment. The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini again have two cameras that are now diagonally opposite each other. The ultra-wide-angle 12-megapixel lens lets in 47% more light. It is nice that with that lens you can also take a macro photo of an insect, flower bud or water drop from two centimeters. You will also now find the optical image stabilization of the iPhone 12 Pro in the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini. With the Cinematic Mode you can easily sharpen something else in the image. You can also adjust this afterwards and it works completely automatically when a person is talking.

From Friday 17 September you can order the iPhone 13 in five new colors for the prices below. It will be available on September 24th! The iPhone 13 mini models are € 100 cheaper.

iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Max Pro with Smooth Promotion Screen
The iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Max Pro also have an OLED screen with Promotion. For several years now, the iPad Pro models have had Ppromotion screens where the screen refresh rate varies. With a lot of movement, the iPhone 13 Pro screens refresh very quickly, which ensures very smooth images. With little movement, a low frequency ensures lower power consumption. The battery of the iPhone 13 Pro lasts 1.5 hours longer and the iPhone 13 Pro Max even works 2.5 hours longer. The cameras have also been greatly improved with slow-motion filming in macro mode, a 77mm telephoto lens and an ultra-wide angle lens that captures 92% more light. All cameras are now capable of taking pictures in night mode in very low light. With this combination you can optically zoom up to 6x. Thanks to ProRes, you can film with better quality in 4K. This ProRes format is widely used by Final Cut Pro users and takes up more space due to its higher quality. If you want to film a lot in this format, it is better to choose an iPhone with extra storage space. With the Pro models, in addition to the basic version with 128 GB, you can also choose versions with 256, 512 or 1024 GB. The ProRes format will be available in a later version of iOS 15.
