Another interim update is coming to your iPhone, because Apple is working on iOS 17.2.1. These issues will likely be resolved in the update!
iOS 17.2.1 is coming
Another update is coming for your iPhone! Apple is working on iOS 17.2.1, an interim software update that should mainly solve problems in iOS 17.2. Last week, Apple launched iOS 17.2, bringing the Diary app to your iPhone and adding new features to Messages and Apple Music. iOS 17.2.1 does not add any new features, but it does fix problems.

The new update improves the security of iOS 17.2 and implements several bug fixes. This is not the first time that Apple has had to release an interim update for iOS 17, as iOS 17.0.1 and iOS 17.1.1 have also been released previously. Users are again experiencing problems with iOS 17.2, forcing Apple to release iOS 17.1.2. This is what you can expect from the update.
These issues are resolved in iOS 17.2.1
After the release of iOS 17.2, users are complaining about various issues. For example, the Messages app would disappear due to a bug as soon as the order of the apps is adjusted. This is only the case when the home screen layout is changed. Apple is expected to solve this problem with iOS 17.2.1.
Furthermore, Apple is reportedly mainly focusing on security issues with iOS 17.2.1. It is not known exactly what these problems are, so that malicious parties cannot take advantage of the security bugs. In any case, these are probably not major security problems, because there is a good chance that we will not be able to install iOS 17.2.1 until next year.
This is when the update will appear
Due to the holidays, we no longer have to expect the update this year, because the employees at Apple are almost on holiday. It is therefore expected that Apple will release iOS 17.2.1 in mid-January. There was no interim update for iOS 16.2 this year, but last year iOS 15.2.1 was released on January 12, 2022. The next minor software update for iOS 17.2 is likely to arrive around the same date in 2024.
