I bought dextro and dextrose for more energy. But aren’t they the same?
Answer
Dear Yvette,
Of course I don’t know what exactly you bought, but you could already deduce a lot from the packaging. It should state which ingredients are in your energy booster.
Dextro could be a brand name of a dextrose-based product. It may contain other ingredients than just dextrose to improve the product, flavor it, give it special properties, etc. Again: you can see this on the packaging.
Dextrose as a pure substance is simply the natural form of glucose (also known as D-glucose). That is the pure form, provided of course some impurity. So this could be 100% dextrose, but it could also just be a brand or product name. So look (I’m quite repetitive) on the packaging.
