Disable touch gestures on Windows 11
Touch gestures, which appeared on Windows 8 and were reinforced on Windows 10, were designed to allow actions to be carried out in the most intuitive way possible. We also find some of these movements on our smartphones, such as pinching with two fingers to zoom or swiping the screen to change pages. To better integrate with its operating systems, Microsoft also offers to manage, through the use of touch gestures, open windows, applications and software, the notification center, widgets or even multiple desktops.
However, this type of navigation is far from pleasing to all users, so the Redmond firm leaves the possibility of deactivating touch gestures. To do this :
- Click on the Windows icon in the taskbar then go to the settings (or use the shortcut Windows key + I);
- Go to the Bluetooth and devices subcategory;
- Click on the Touchpad option;
- Expand the Scroll and zoom menu, and uncheck the two boxes available to you;
- Expand the three-finger gestures menu and select Nothing from the two drop-down menus on the right;
- Expand the four-finger gestures menu and select Nothing from the two drop-down menus on the right.
