When you think of ‘Polish manufacturer’ you quickly think of FSO or its predecessor Polski Fiat, but the country also has a real supercar manufacturer: Arrinera. AutoWeek can show you exclusive footage of a new model from Arrinera.

Arrinera is a brand founded in 2008 that finally presented its almost production-ready supercar in 2014 with the Hussayara. Named after the Hungarian hussars, the Hussayara was a General Motors 6.2 V8 equipped supercar that was also made into a racing version. The road-going Hussayara never really reached the production stage, more than prototypes were never built. After financial problems it was decided to stop the development of the Hussayara. The Arrinera website is down, but there may still be something bubbling behind the scenes.

AutoWeek has surfaced fresh patent plates of a new model from Arrinera. The patent drawings were submitted to the European Patent Office by Arrinera Technology & Development in July this year and show a new supercar from the manufacturer. Arrinera’s flat creation – in which we see influences from a handful of existing supercars – seems to have no exhaust tailpipes and has suspiciously few cooling openings at the back. This may indicate that this Polish supercar does not have an internal combustion engine, but an electric powertrain.

Will we ever find out what exactly is hiding under the carriage of this new supercar? We hope so, although it is not inconceivable that it is really over for Arrinera. Other Polish brands that have been established in the country in recent years: the promising Izera and the reborn Syrena, which should come up with a new model this year.
