Aston Martin Callum Vanquish 25 in production trim

Former Jaguar and Aston Martin designer Ian Callum presented an early version of a modernized Vanquish late last year. That full Aston Martin Callum Vanquish 25 baptized Briton is now presented in production trim.

Ian Callum can hardly say goodbye to car land and why should the former Jaguar and Aston Martin designer? Callum started his own design agency and, together with R-Reforged, Switzerland-based, worked on the Aston Martin Vanquish.

As you have probably immediately noticed when you see the photos, this is not the second generation Vanquish that was sold between 2012 and 2018. No, the Aston Martin Callum Vanquish 25 ‘by R-Reforged’ is based on the first Vanquish that Aston Martin had on the menu between 2001 and 2007, a model whose lines were not entirely coincidentally written by Ian Callum himself. The Callum Vanquish 25 is in fact a modernized version of the original. According to the English, the primal Vanquish has been adjusted in more than 350 points.

That starts with the appearance. For example, the reborn Vanquish has a modified muzzle with a completely new front bumper, which houses a much larger lower grille than the original (photos 7, 8 and 9). The rear lighting gets a completely new layout and the chrome strip previously located between the units has been replaced by a body-colored one. Changes have also been made to the interior. For example, the workplace is not only finished in the smallest corners and niches with carbon fiber panels and beautifully stitched leather, the entire center console has also been revised. The climate control knobs are arranged in the same way as the original, but are much tighter. Above that we even observe a real start button. Another floor above that, an infotainment system has been given a place. The analog clock placed between the ventilation grids is the proverbial cherry on the dashboard cake.

Technic

Of course, technical updates have also been made. The reborn Vanquish benefits from modified dampers and stiffer anti-roll bars. The car is 1 cm closer to the asphalt while the track width has increased by no less than 6 centimeters. Nice detail: R-Reforged emphatically mentions that the Callum Vanquish 25 doesn’t feel like a hard-as-nails coupe that seems to be intended mainly for the tracks “as many modern GTs feel.” The seat is mounted lower in the car and the steering should be slightly more direct than that of the original.

According to its creators, the Callum Vanquish 25 can be adapted in detail to the wishes of the customer. R-Reforged itself offers eight different paint colors and three different types of 20-inch wheels. Also interesting is the choice you can make in terms of transmissions. The Callum Vanquish 25 can be ordered with a manual gearbox, with a six-speed automatic transmission, but also with a sequential gearbox. Under the hood is a modified version of the original 5.9-liter V12, which with a 588 hp is a hit stronger than the 528 hp variant that was in the Vanquish V12 S.

According to the original schedule, only 25 copies of this Callum Vanquish 25 will be produced, each of which should cost around € 615,000.
