Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition is extra intense

Aston Martin is giving the Vantage and Vantage Roadster a special edition. The festive version is called F1 Edition and is based on the Aston Martin Vantage that will debut as a Safety Car during the Bahrain Grand Prix this weekend.

Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin both supply Safety Cars in this year’s F1 season. At Aston Martin, a specially adapted variant of the Vantage takes on the role of Safety Car and it is that car on which the brand now bases a special edition. This is the Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition, a special variant that has, among other things, just a little more power than a standard Vantage.

The biturbo 4.0 V8 from Mercedes-AMG kicks it out in the regular Aston Martin Vantage 510 hp and 585 Nm. The Vantage Safety Car gained 25 hp and the Vantage F1 Edition also benefits from that power increase. Also 635 hp and 585 Nm of V8 power in the nose of the special edition. The torque of 585 Nm is thus unchanged, but is available in a wider rev range. In addition, the eight-speed automatic transmission has been adjusted.

But it does not stop with extra power. Aston Martin gives the Vantage modified dampers, modified springs and a stiffer chassis across the board. In addition, the steering is more direct than before. Aston Martin puts the Vantage F1 Edition on special 21-inch alloy wheels that are a size bigger than the regular Vantages. Rubber is folded around the light metal, developed in collaboration with Pirelli.

From the outside you will recognize the Vantage F1 Edition, which will be available as a Coupé as well as a Roadster, with its modified spoilers and extra lips and edges. At top speed, the spoiler work delivers 200 kilos more downward pressure than with the regular Vantages. The ‘Vane’ grille, with horizontal louvers, is standard on the Vantage F1 Edition, but the Vantage F1 Edition is of course available in special liveries, including the Aston Martin Racing Green that debuted on the Vantage Safety Car.

Dutch prices are not yet available. In the United Kingdom, the Vantage F1 Edition changes ownership as a Coupé from € 165,532. For the Vantage Roadster F1 Edition, Aston Martin wants to see at least € 188,813 on the table in its home country.
